"I had no idea who Fizz was."

Mustafizur Rahman, a pacer for Bangladesh, remembered a point in his early international career when he had no idea who "Fizz" was.

Mustafizur discussed his career and the Bangladesh squad in an interview that was made public by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday. He also shared a few tales, such as the story behind the nickname that has made him more well-known.

'Fizz' is the worldwide moniker for the left-arm pacer. Everywhere he plays, teammates and commentators refer to him by this name. The 28-year-old remembered how he felt when he saw the name for the first time.

The name board we use for fielding and bowling sessions gets really large if all of the players' names are written on it. That explains the origin of the name "Fizz." I didn't realize who it was on the first day. They later admitted to me that it was me.

  

"I went on to play in the Indian Premier League in 2016, and 'Fizz' was also well-liked there." It has continued ever since," Mustafizur recounted.
