Deion Sanders' remarks following Colorado football's victory over Baylor

The football team from Colorado, led by Deion Sanders, just pulled off a historic comeback.
With only a few seconds remaining in regulation, Shedeur Sanders, behind by a score, attempted a Hail Mary and found LaJohntay Wester to send the game into overtime.

Travis Hunter caused Baylor running back Dominic Richardson to fumble near the goal line, setting off a frenzy at Folsom Field following Micah Welch's second rushing touchdown of the game in overtime.
Deion Sanders said the following following Colorado's 38–31 victory over Baylor:

Deion Sanders' opening remarks following his victory over Baylor

"What a fantastic victory. The young lads had remarkable resilience; they never gave up or gave in. Even at the very end, the coaches remained enthused. They continued to make calls and come up with ideas. We knew after we scored (in overtime) that we wanted to defer if we won the coin toss so we could start our defense, but they won, so that's how it went from then.

"I love the outcome, but I don't like how it turned out. I believe that we are far superior that what we occasionally present to you. We continue to give you hints of our running game, our gritty, hard-nosed defense, and our ability to throw the ball around, but we just delay for a few plays or carelessly give up something. However, I'm happy, grateful, and proud that I've taken a step toward bringing Ms. Peggy to a bowl game.

I went over to the locker room and waited outside until the head coach came out, but I don't think they got the word to him. I want to apologize to the opposition for the manner we charged the field. I wanted to acknowledge him and give him a handshake, but that's not professional. Although I didn't like what happened at the end of the game, I really adore what happened. We have an incredible fan following. I'm grateful that there are some young children on this campus that are CU football enthusiasts. Every day as I stroll around campus, we are treated with such love, respect, and reverence."

Deion Sanders on the defensive line for Colorado

We completely underperformed compared to our potential. We made a few mistakes. They performed quarterback draws and went empty (formation). We may have seen that in practice a few times this week, and even though we knew it was going to happen, we believed we were ready. They were resilient overall, but we need to do a better job of stopping them because they ran that play multiple times and during overtime."

Deion Sanders on observing Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders excel

It isn't limited to those men. Some of the details are too little for you to see. The (offensive) line is always made fun of. We made a run and scored. We accomplished it in two back-to-back runs, with your quarterback pressing the opponent to reach the end zone. I admire that these guys can just move on to the next play and flush things out, no matter what happens. We are attempting to instruct and enlighten them about that. That is something I'm pleased with."
