5. Instances where Pakistan, like they did in Rawalpindi, scored more than 448 in their opening innings but lost the Test match. At the same location, they also recorded their highest first-inning total in a loss in December 2022 (579 against England). But in those five Test matches, they lost four of them when they batted second. Only once, in Galle in 2014, did they score more than 448 while losing as the first-time batting team against Sri Lanka, by a margin of seven wickets.
